The Faculty currently has a number of PCs and other computer related equipment available to Law students. These all form part of the Law Managed Cluster Service, which in turn is part of the Public Workstation Facility (PWF).
Room S19 Freshfields IT Room
24 pcs connected to the PWF, located on Floor 2 of the Faculty (opposite the Help Desk). These are available for use by all Law Faculty students during Library opening times through out the year. Please bear in mind that this is a teaching room and as such may be in use at various times through out the year.

Second Floor, open area
22 pcs connected to the PWF. These are available for use by all Law Faculty students during Library opening times through out the year.

Third Floor, open area
10 pcs connected to the PWF. These are available for use by all Law Faculty students during Library opening times through out the year.
Printer law_f3_lj (black and white) or law_f3_clj (colour). This one printer has two printer queues to allow you to print colour or black and white. Make sure you select the correct print queue. Click here for more information about printing.
Room T11, PhD. Room
2 pcs connected to the PWF, these are restricted to use for Ph.D. students only.

First Floor, Library entrance
4 pcs. Half of these are connected to the Law Faculty network and have been set up to gain access to various legal based research tools. The other 4 machines are connected to the Newton Catalogue (managed by the University Library). These machines are available for use by all students and anyone who has a current reader's ticket.
Room G25, Graduate Common Room
1 pc. This is a dedicated web based email terminal connected to the University webmail server (https//webmail.hermes.cam.ac.uk/) and is available for use by Graduate Students.
Lower Ground Floor, open area
6 pcs. These are dedicated web based email terminals connected to the University webmail server (https//webmail.hermes.cam.ac.uk/) and are available for use by Law students.
Alternative PWF Terminals
If all Law PWF terminals are in use and you are in need of a PWF workstation, then please make use of the Sidgwick Computing Facilty. The room is located in the basement of the Oriental Studies Faculty on the Sidgwick site (entry is from the back of the building).
The Sidgewick Computing Facility in the basement of the Oriental Studies Faculty is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with key access out of working hours (0800 to 1700 Monday to Friday). Postgraduate students may apply to Computing Service Reception for a key.
Linux
To use PWF Linux, from the Novell login (Windows XP) restart the PWF machine that you wish to use. When the computer restarts select 'PWF Linux'.
