Finding Terminals in Law

The Faculty currently has a number of PCs and Macs as well as other computer related equipment available to Law students and other students in the University. These machines are managed by the Computer Office and form part of the larger Managed Cluster Service Desktop Services provided by the UIS.

Room S19 Freshfields IT Room

24 pc's connected to the Law Managed Cluster Service, located on Floor 2 of the Faculty (opposite the Help Desk). These are available for use by all students during Library opening times through out the year. Please bear in mind that this is a teaching room and as such may be in use at various times through out the year.

Second Floor, open area

18 pc's and 2 Mac's connected to the Law Managed Cluster Service. These are available for use by all students during Library opening times through out the year.

An HP Scanjet 3570c is available for scanning in this area.

Third Floor, open area

6 pc's connected to the Law Managed Cluster Service. These are available for use by all Law Faculty students during Library opening times through out the year.

Room T11, PhD. Room

2 pc's connected to the Law Managed Cluster Service, these are restricted to use for Ph.D. students only.

First Floor, Library entrance

4 pc's connected to the Law Managed Cluster Service. 
4 pc's connected to the Newton Catalog (managed by the University Library).
1 pc serving as an electronic legal deposit access point.

Linux

To use Linux, restart the MCS machine that you wish to use (or just power it up). When the computer restarts select 'MCS Linux'.
