In most cases, each member of staff and student that has a CRSid has access to a Microsoft Office 365 licence whilst you are employed or studying with the University. Amongst other things, this provides you with access to:

  • Email
  • Word
  • Excel
  • Powerpoint
  • OneDrive

The Microsoft Office 365 licence allows you to use the suite of products that the University subscribes to, to allow you to carry out your work and studies. Once you leave the University, there is a grace period that allows you to move your emails and documents to a different provider.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA or 2FA)

The University has adopted the use of MFA to provide enhanced security to your information. This reduces the risk of your information being compromised by hackers.

The University's email system is provided by Microsoft Exchange. You can manage your emails via Microsoft Outlook, which is part of the Office 365 suite, or via other email clients, such as Apple Mail.

Microsoft Office

This suite of programs gives access to word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software that enables you to carry out your work and studies.

OneDrive gives you the ability to store your documents and access them across different devices. It is advisable to make use of this functionality in case one of your devices, such as your laptop fails and you can't recover the information from it.
