The smallest of the three theatres located on the lower ground floor but it has an excellent hybrid teaching capability. A powerful PC allows lecturers to present using a variety of multimedia formats, projected on to a large screen via a laser light-source projector. Remote students can see the lecture via a high definition camera.

Technical Specifications

PC Windows 11 PC connected the the internet. Authentication is via University Active Directory (Blue) for which an account is required.
Projector Epson LB-610U ceiling mounted laser light source projector.
Camera Angekis Sabre Plus PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) camera. 1080p/60Hz resolution. Controlled from the lectern.
Speakers Wall mounted audio speakers for sound output.
Microphones Stalk microphone mounted on the lectern.
Wireless Microphones - Lapel - attach the microphone to a jacket or shirt with a transmitter that attaches to a waistband or in a pocket.
- Handheld - hold the microphone in your hand. It is quite heavy though.
- CatchBox - Encased in a soft case that, in things like Q & A sessions, can be passed around the audience so everyone can hear their question.
Height Adjustable Lectern Electrically operated for comfort.
External Connectors Connection for laptop projection via USB-c and HDMI plus others, and power socket.
Power Sockets Floor mounted sockets at the front of the theatre, sockets on the first two rows of seating and two sockets at the rear on the accessibility seating.

Software and Lecture Capture

Office 365

Access to the University Microsoft Office suite including:

  • Powerpoint
  • Word
  • Teams
  • Email (via a browser)

Please note that if logging into Microsoft products you may be prompted for further authentication via your preferred multi-factor authentication route (mobile phones may not receive SMS texts in this location so please ensure that you have the Authenticator app installed on your phone and that its configured to use wi-fi (UniOfCam or eduroam). 

Panopto Sign-in via Raven credentials. Recording of camera view and slides or PC screen. Integrates with Moodle for direct uploading of recording to the relevant course.
Zoom The Faculty has a Zoom licence that can be booked in advance. Screen sharing and recording is available. Recordings have to be requested via the IT office and are uploaded on to Moodle via Panopto.
Teams University access to Teams. Meetings can be joined via Teams or your Microsoft Outlook calendar. Screen sharing and recording is available. Recordings are available on the host's meeting chat and can be uploaded on to Moodle via Panopto.
VLC Player Media player supporting a wide range of formats.

Lift Access Yes. Contact reception for an access card.
Accessibility Seating Two desks at the rear of the theatre with power sockets.
Hearing Loop Yes. Adapter is available from reception and can be used with a hearing aid switched to 'T'.
Speech-to-Text As the lecturer speaks, it is transcribed and displayed with their presentation. Available via Google Slides. Powerpoint slides can be imported.
